1409 W PORT AU PRINCE Lane

Originally commissioned for the Cannon family in 1978 by architects Donald Schewnn & Jerry Clark, whose firm was known for many commercial and residential projects around Phoenix/Scottsdale/Paradise Valley including the Adams Hotel rebuild (now the ''cheese grater'' Renaissance Hotel), this home was designed to be a product of the era: family and fun. With an eye on using techniques of Frank Lloyd Wright and Ralph Haver (whom Schwenn worked under) to bring a focus on the resort-like backyard with plenty of space inside this sprawling compound which is located on over a half-acre in historic Moon Valley in North Phoenix. Updates throughout have been done since the current owners purchased it a few years ago as a vacation home and include bathroom remodels, upgraded flooring, and more. Tucked away on this cul-de-sac, don't let the unassuming facade fool you as this home reveals a grand entrance into the large living space that has that "wow" factor when you first enter. The split floor plan features a large primary bedroom with separate walk-in closets plus a private lanai with its own exit. The other four bedrooms feature a variety of elements like one bedroom with bathroom en suite, another with a huge closet, and a jack-and-jill set-up for the remaining two bedrooms. The property has over a dozen citrus trees and a large grassy play area for kids, pets, or outdoor games. The large, heated, diving pool has its own outdoor cabana structure for you to reimagine that includes a 1/2 bathroom and has dedicated plumbing and electrical, all included in the original plans. The pool even has an adorable little "kiddie pool" connected to it. The Moon Valley Country Club is moments away and is a huge draw for those considering this area with its picturesque golf course, 6 tennis and 8 pickleball courts (all lighted), heated swimming pools, and more throughout the complex. If you're considering an investment into the AirBnB or VRBO market, this home has everything visitors are looking for and could be turned into a great rental. Not to be missed, the garage is spacious and has a large storage closet and parking for 3 cars plus a huge driveway with a roundabout drive in front. This is one of those homes that when leaving you'll find yourself saying: "THAT was a cool home."
